On Sunday 14 October the 35th Spring Cycle is happening in Sydney. I am in charge of making sure this event is running smooth and everyone is having an awesome time. We have four rides on this year: 10km, 18km, 50km & 105km. Check out more info about the ride here: www.springcycle.com.au
I am hoping some of you will ride with their family, friends or colleagues. However, I also hope some of you might be able to help me out. I am looking for some volunteers that can assist me with the following jobs: Ride Crew & Ride Leaders. If we get a PLCC group of 10 or more together, there will be ~$30 donated to the club for each volunteer. Which would mean the Prez can shout us some more beers at the Christmas Party.
Details of roles:
Not scared of changing a tube or putting a chain back on a bike? This role might be for you! Ride Crew ride the entire route, looking out for anyone that is having mechanical issues and helping them out. For this role you will need to bring your own tyre levers, small tools and handpump. Bicycle NSW will provide spare tubes and patch kits for you. It is up to you whether you ride the 10km, 18km, 50km or 105km.
Are you a strong rider, not scared of bossing people around, strong communication skills and good at direction? Than this might be you. Each ride will have two ride leaders that are at the front of the ride, following the signage and making sure the rest of the riders are staying behind them. Each duo will have a radio that is in direct contact with the Traffic Manager to report back location and any possible issues along the route.
If anyone is free and interested in one of the roles, please tap me on the shoulder at the next ride, reply on this forum or shoot me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
