Another big weekend for Parklife.
It kicked off with the TdF night at the Bath Arms hotel on Friday night. This was held in-conjunction with the best bike shop going round, Park Bikes. From all accounts this was a hugely successful night and the stage turned out to be one of the best in the tour. Unfortunately no photos from me, but hopefully some will be posted later.
The Prospect-Roubaix ride continues to kick along and even in the colder months we are getting a very solid turnout. Well done to those hardy warriors.
A social ride has been happening for the past few weeks and this week we have 4 riders. Hopefully we will see a few more join as the weather starts to warm up over the coming months. Huge thanks to Tony Patterson for getting this going. Tony is having an OS holiday over August, but somehow we will find a way to keep this going if there is interest.
There was plenty happening on the racing front, and PLCC was on fire. Swiggers and John Muirhead were up in the Tweed Valley for Battle Recharge (Battle of the Border). Clearly a tough race judging by the exhaustion evident in the photo of John after it was all over. Swiggers picked up a 3rd place in the first stage and I think 4th (or thereabouts in the 2nd stage). Well done Swiggers.
A few riders headed to Oakville for the Parra Cycling Clubs road race there. Jacob Wilson promoted himself to A grade and immediately had an impact and took out an impressive 4th. Euro Dan and Matt Hazard ripped apart B grade and took off on a 2 man breakaway around the 2nd lap and never were seen again. Great 1-2 for the club, with Dan taking the top spot. Well done guys. Gareth Walsh put aside baby duties and joined in the fun in C grade and finished in the bunch sprint but missed out on a podium. A special call out to Kman who went out to support. He provided many of the photos (and also took a lot of video footage which I haven't posted here) and provided a brilliant running commentary for a number of us. Great job Kman.
Not to be outdone a number of other riders headed to Heffron for RBCC crit. James Evo nabbed himself a 2nd placing in A grade (missed out on the lollies which was on offer to the winner đ). There is a great photo of a PLCC train pushing the pace in the B grade.
And Birdman does what Birdman does. Another podium for the big guy. Well done mate.
If you have any photos from your rides over the weekend, please post them. It would be great to see what everyone got up to rather than the limited ones I have.

Great results yet again by all participating club members. Good work.
Cheers for the write up.
Well done PLCC, great weekend. And the best thing is all the support that everyone gets on race day. Top notch
In some late news from the weekend, Shane McGlone swooped in at the Waratahs crit at Lansdowne and in channelling the enthusiasm from last weekend in Nowra, went for broke on what looks to be a very solid breakaway. Unfortunately the lower picture shows he couldn't hold them off. Glory or bust Shane. Well done.
