We are pleased to announce that we are introducing the PLCC Club Championships.
This will be a three race series involving an Individual Time Trial, a road race and a criterium. It will test riders over the three different types of races to establish who is the overall club champion. Handicaps and a points system will be used to ensure all riders have a chance at being crowned the champion. There will be a male and female champion.
More details are to follow but for now please put the following dates in your calendar:
Sunday August 5 (morning) - ITT
Saturday September 1 (afternoon) - Road Race

Saturday September 8 (morning) - Criterium

How the club championships work.
Each person will be graded. There will be grades A through to D. In the ITT and crit, you will compete against all other riders in your grade. In the handicap, your grade will determine your handicap time. The women will ride within the Men’s grade but will be competing against each other.
These races are leveraging existing races. The ITT is run by Australian Time Trial Association (ATTA). The crit is being run in-conjunction with Marconi and NWSCC and the handicap is run by Central Coast. So for the crit and handicap, you are not only racing against people from within Parklife but also people from other clubs in the overall race.
For the ITT, an aged adjusted time will determine the placings within each grade. For the crit, the order across the line will determine the placings within each grade. For the handicap, the order across the line will determine the placings across all grades (i.e. the placings are not within each grade).
The placings will be used to not only award the prize money for each of the club races but also for points in the overall club championships. If you podium in the overall race, you stand to collect whatever prize money is on offer.
The points will be awarded as follows:
For each person who starts each race.
For your place within your race in the ITT and criterium. We will award points up to a place relevant for the number of racers in each grade.
For the top 10 places in the handicap
There will also be bonus points for a podium in the overall race, in the crit and handicap.
The Club champion will be the person with the most points at the end of the three races. There will be a male and female champion.
If you have any queries, please comment below. We want to ensure it's clear how this will work.
Awesome work foxy. A massive thank you to the team putting this together.
So for some controversy, how are we allocating grades?
