The Tour is almost upon us and as a prelude we are holding the Tour de Lane Cove National Park on Saturday July 7. This is a club ride for everyone. We hope that everyone from the less experienced rider, who is comfortable in group riding, through to the very experienced rider, will join us. We want ladies to join us. Lots of ladies. And we welcome teen aged children who are comfortable in group riding, though we ask they be accompanied by at least one of their parents. This is about coming together as a club and to encourage those riders who don't get out regularly but want the chance to ride with other like minded people in a safe, inclusive, supportive and social environment. So park your urge to race to an imaginary line or take the KOM or QOM and ride for pure enjoyment. The ride will be around 45km long, on bike paths or quieter back streets at a pace that will suit everyone. It will start at Park Bikes at 6.30am and take us to Lane Cove National Park and back again, where we will all have coffee and a chance to catch up with other riders and club members. If numbers are large, we will split into smaller groups. And we will have a number of experienced riders there to help and support you. Our Bobbo and Prospect rides are still happening this Saturday. The Bobbo ride departs from the Bayview Hotel in Gladesville at 6.30 and Prospect from Park Bikes also at 6.30. Sure it is darker till a little later and a little bit colder but there is no better feeling getting out in the brisk fresh air and then rewarding yourself with a nice warm coffee at the end of the ride. Also on Saturday we have some Time Trial practise happening at Parra Park. We are departing from Park Bikes at 6.30, will have a solid hitout at the Park and return back to SOP. If you are coming to Nowra for the TTT championships, or even if you are not, come along and enjoy the hard workout. On Sunday, we also have our Womens ride heading out from Centennial Park at 7.30. This caters for ladies of all levels of ability in a safe, inclusive and friendly bunch. And whilst you are all together, why don't you have a a chat about joining the PLCC team doing the Gong ride in November. I know of a few members heading up to Calga for the CCCC graded scratch race and to Mt Kuring Gai for the NSCC Beauie Worlds.
