What a great weekend. Spring is here. Its warm and plenty of daylight.
Really solid turn out for both Bobbo and Prospect rides. Expecting these will just get bigger as we move closer to summer.
Also handy to have the camera at the ready to capture a few club members flashing past in the opposite direction.
Really great to see so many people out and enjoying riding with mates in the sunshine.
We had a number of riders head up to Kurri Kurri for the HDCC Mick Chapman race at HEZ.
It was hot and windy up there which made for hard race.
Cesar and Ago toughed out in a fast and furious Div 2 race.
Ago just got pipped for a podium in Div 2. Riding super strong mate. Check out the video a little further down, very close.
Panther, the General, Bull and Birdman all battled it out in Div 3. I'm told there was some great work by the group that saw the General take out first with Birdman just behind in second. Welcome to B grade General. 😀
Workhorse. Expect nothing less.
He doesn't even look like he's working. A small grimace next time Birdman
Calm before the storm.
Ago and Cesar pushing hard
Video of Ago just missing out on a podium in a super fast finish. It's a tough up hill section to the finish line, so huge credit to pushing through with this much power.
Well done Ago. Great to see you still got recognition for a great effort. You need to speak to the rest of the podium about zipper height. They have no idea what they are doing. 😀
Well done General and Birdman.
Well deserved smiles from the two Div 2 campaigners.
Nash, Evo and the big dogs headed out to Lithgow for some mountain biking fun. 90+km with over 2000m of climbing in a 30+ degree sounds mighty tough to me.
Don't forget we are having a moutaining bike morning out on September 30, so keep an eye on the Parklife Facebook page for details.
Paul Drury has headed over to Spain to catch all the action at the Vuelta. What a great year to be there. Simon Yates from Mitchelton-Scott taking out the Red jersey. Great result for the Aussie team. Anyway back on the big fella, he told me the climb in Andorra was a piece of cake. 12.2km at 8.4%. Shades of Back of Falls big guy.😀
Also congrats to Mike Mitchell and his wife Janelle on the birth of their daughter Elsie Mae. Elsie was born on August 14 and is settling in nicely back home.
Lastly, Tour Down Under is just around the corner. A few of us are heading down there from Wed Jan 16 through to Sun (morning) Jan 20. We are staying at the IStay Precinct in the city. Its a great few days with lots of riding around Adelaide and catching the action. Always made better with a number of friends to enjoy it with. So if you are keen, book yourself some flights and accommodation. You can go down earlier or later, leave earlier or later or stay some where different. All up to you. If you have any questions, contact Pat or myself (Russell).
